  • Initiation and planning of all aspects of project cost control, including project baselines and risk registers. Application of suitable tools and methods to make workflows efficient, reduce inefficiencies, and optimize overall project performance. Use of cost or risk analyses to validate planning.
  • Support throughout the entire project lifecycle, from creation to the closing phase, responsible for cost monitoring, tracking, and control.
  • Ensuring project compliance and active support during audits.
  • Support in creating forecasts, maintaining forecast data, and verifying the accuracy of actual costs (material, personnel, manufacturing costs, supplier invoices, timesheets, travel expenses).
  • Close coordination with scheduling to align cost and schedules and to provide time-delimited cost forecasts.
  • Analysis and interpretation of cost developments to identify trends. Supporting the project team through participation in meetings and constructive cooperation.
  • Transparent presentation of all financial key figures (gross margin, backlog, KPIs, Earned-Value metrics, etc.). Participation in project and management reviews to present the cost status, including cost reports, budget variances, and their causes.
  • Promoting a good team culture, including the maintenance and distribution of project metrics to keep the team, customers, and stakeholders constantly informed about the project status. Participation in audits.
  • Functioning as the central point of contact for project cost control for internal and external customers. Active collaboration with other project areas to integrate project goals and jointly develop solutions for complex issues. Confident handling of difficult topics and acting as the "go-to" person for demanding challenges.

Your Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Project Management, Engineering, Economics, Finance, or a comparable technical field.
  • 5-10 years of professional experience in project cost control in the energy industry, ideally with projects having > 30 million USD project volume.
  • Experience in other areas of Project Controls such as scheduling, risk management, contract management, or Change Control is an advantage.
  • Good knowledge of project reporting, cost and engineering controlling, as well as experience in dealing with various business systems and tools (e.g., SAP, Business Intelligence, Microsoft Project, Excel).
  • Very good English skills; German or French advantageous.
