• Technically demanding system engineer role focusing on IT systems and network architectures on naval ships and naval vessels
• Responsibility for conception, system integration, specification, testing, and commissioning of complex IT and network solutions
• Work on safety-critical and highly complex systems in the maritime environment
• Support of hardware and software development projects within the project environment
• Derivation of technical requirements from higher-level system or customer requirements
• Creation of specifications, test regulations, and technical documentation
• Review of technical specifications from system suppliers
• Support of project management with technical issues and supplier management
• Collaboration on system certifications by classification societies
• Control and coordination of system suppliers during order processing
• Planning and execution of commissioning and acceptance tests directly on board
• Role with a high interface function between development, project management, suppliers, customers, classification societies, and commissioning
• Suitable for candidates with experience in IT infrastructure, network architecture, virtualization, IT security, and complex system integration
• Not a pure administrator job, but a designing and integrating engineering role with responsibility for technical concepts, requirements, and acceptances

Your Qualifications

• Completed degree in technical or scientific fields, e.g., Informatik, Elektrotechnik, Nachrichtentechnik, Mathematik, or comparable
• Professional experience in IT infrastructure, complex networks, network architectures, virtualization, QoS, and IT security
• Knowledge of network topologies, network device configuration, server/storage/cloud infrastructures, as well as virtualization, e.g., VMware
• Experience with IT security in the network area, e.g., Firewalls, packet diodes, or comparable security architectures
• Familiarity with MBSE, Software Defined Network, and system development according to standards such as IEEE 1220 or V-Modell XT is desirable
• Experience in conception, specification, system integration, testing, commissioning, or acceptance of complex technical systems
• Experience with naval ships, maritime systems, or safety-critical projects is an advantage
• Network certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CCENT, or ICND are desirable
• Good English skills as well as willingness for occasional national and international business trips, including some sea voyages
• Teamwork skills, sense of responsibility, initiative, structured way of working, and strong communication skills
