Team Leader - Children's Residential Care

Ebbw Vale Salary upto £39,384 | Full Time | Permanent

We're recruiting for an experienced Team Leader to join a children's residential service in Ebbw Vale.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone currently working as a Senior Residential Support Worker, Team Leader, or Deputy Manager who is looking to further develop their leadership career within children's residential care.

The Role

Working closely with the Registered Manager, you'll help lead the home, support staff development, maintain high standards of care, and ensure positive outcomes for children and young people.

Key Responsibilities

• Leading shifts and supporting the day-to-day operation of the home
• Deputising for the Registered Manager when required
• Supporting, mentoring, and supervising Residential Support Workers
• Monitoring care plans, reports, and key-working activities
• Ensuring safeguarding and regulatory compliance standards are met
• Supporting staff training, inductions, and development
• Building positive relationships with professionals and external agencies
• Contributing to inspections, audits, and continuous improvement

Requirements

• QCF Level 3 in Health & Social Care (Children & Young People)
• Experience as a Team Leader, Senior Residential Support Worker, or similar
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding and residential childcare regulations
• Leadership and staff development experience
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Registered with Social Care Wales (or willing to register)
