Support Assistant (Temp to Perm)

Location: NN3 Pay: £13.56 per hour (£14 per hour) Hours: 22.2 hours per week, 35 working weeks per year Contract: Temporary to Permanent

We are recruiting for a caring and dedicated Support Assistant to provide one-to-one support to learners with additional needs within a college setting. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference by helping students access learning, build confidence and achieve their educational goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one support throughout the college day.
• Assist learners in accessing lessons and practical activities.
• Support students with their academic, social and personal development.
• Encourage independence, confidence and engagement in learning.
• Assist with personal care where required.
• Monitor progress and maintain accurate records.
• Work closely with teaching staff and support teams.
• Promote safeguarding, equality and inclusion at all times.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a support, care, education or SEND environment.
• Experience supporting young people or vulnerable individuals.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patient, compassionate and reliable approach.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities.

Desirable

• Experience working with SEND, Autism, ADHD, SEMH or EHCPs.
• Previous experience as a Learning Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant, Support Worker or Care Worker.
