LBops Role in India (Morgan Stanley)

Team Overview The Load Balancing Infrastructure Operations Level 3 (LBops L3) team is part of the Enterprise Computing Organization of Morgan Stanley. The global team focuses on core infrastructure supporting Application Delivery across Morgan Stanley. This includes support for a multi-vendor Load Balancer environment that provides services to internal and external clients.

Key Responsibilities

You will work within a global "follow-the-sun" operations model responsible for the technologies in respective regions. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

• Supporting a high number of devices and application flows in an enterprise environment, delivering cloud-like experiences for development environments.
• Using advanced network tools to troubleshoot:
• Network connectivity issues
• Fault analysis
• Failure avoidance
• Diagnosis and resolution of functionality-impacting issues in distributed systems environments
• Working with an in-house application management system designed to simplify deployment and management of application delivery components.
• Managing services over the network through a GUI-based console.
• Addressing L2 escalations.
• Process improvement, automation, and scripting.
• Writing technical documentation.
• Collaborating with global SMEs using tools such as:
• Jive
• Twiki
• SharePoint

Required Qualifications

Technical Skills

Strong knowledge of:

• TCP/IP protocols
• HTTP
• DNS
• Comfortable with Unix system administration.

Deep understanding of:

• F5 BIG-IP
• A10 Thunder Application Delivery Devices

Administrative competence in at least one major programming/scripting language or platform such as:

• Ansible
• Perl
• Python
• PowerShell
• C#

Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple tasks and work in high-pressure environments involving outage handling, management, and resolution.
