JOB DESCRIPTION
- Review architectural, structural, mechanical and electrical drawings.
- Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and Bills of Quantities.
- Calculate labour and material requirements for each construction stage.
- Break down project costs into materials and labour
- Prepare tender documents, quotations and cost proposals.
- Monitor actual site expenditure against the approved budget.
- Maintain updated construction rates and cost databases.
- Work closely with architects, engineers, contractors, suppliers and project managers.
- Conduct site visits to verify measurements and construction progress.
- Prepare clear weekly and monthly project cost reports.
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum Diploma in Quantity Surveying.
- At least one year of relevant working experience.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural and services drawings.
- Practical knowledge of construction materials, labour requirements and building processes.
- Strong understanding of Kenyan construction rates and procurement practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience preparing Bills of Quantities, valuations and cost reports.
- Membership or registration with a relevant professional body will be an added advantage.
