A desk cannot be operationally activated without a Director of Investment in post. Ours is open.

This is not a transaction role. You will not negotiate contracts or close deals those belong to the Chief Executives and Finance Officers you appoint and hold to account. You assess opportunity, assemble boards and executive teams, decide what must be answered before capital moves, and originate the next company while the existing ones deliver.

You will be accountable for four things

Activating and governing the desk: companies constituted, boards and executives in post, the governance floor maintained. Capitalising the primary vehicle against a rebaselined plan, and holding it to that plan through its first operating year. Originating the desk's next company. Building the institutional position in mining that lets the group originate, access capital, and be taken seriously.

Targets are locked before the year begins. The institution sets them.

What we are looking for

You have carried an asset or a company from origination to operation and owned the outcome rather than advised on it. You have held decision authority over capital, not merely recommended its deployment. You have appointed and removed senior executives, and can speak to both. You have worked inside a governance structure that constrained you, and can say what it stopped you doing. You hold relationships in mining personally.
