About the Role
We are seeking a highly organized, dependable, and proactive *Administrative Assistant* to join our team at our family-owned funeral home in Brampton.
This is a full-time position supporting our management team and the day-to-day administrative needs of the organization. The successful candidate will be professional, detail-oriented, comfortable managing multiple priorities, and able to communicate effectively with staff, management, families, and community members.
As we serve a diverse community, *fluency in English and Punjabi is preferred* and would be considered a strong asset.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day administrative support to management and other departments as required
- Prepare, review, organize, and format documents, reports, correspondence, and internal communications
- Assist with scheduling meetings, appointments, calendars, and other administrative logistics
- Monitor outstanding tasks, follow-ups, and deadlines and help ensure items are completed on time
- Maintain organized electronic and physical files, records, and documentation
- Assist with employee onboarding, including preparing documentation, maintaining employee records, and tracking required training
- Support the maintenance and organization of company policies, procedures, forms, and administrative systems
- Assist management with internal projects and company initiatives
- Prepare spreadsheets, trackers, reports, and other administrative materials
- Assist with data entry and maintaining accurate information within company systems
- Communicate professionally with employees, families, vendors, and community partners as required
- Handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and discretion
- Provide general office and administrative support as needed
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum *3 years of administrative experience* preferred
- Secondary School Diploma required; post-secondary education in Business Administration, Office Administration, or a related field is an asset
- Strong verbal and written *English communication skills*
- *Ability to communicate in Punjabi is preferred and considered a strong asset*
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Comfortable using Google Workspace, including Gmail, Docs, Sheets, and Drive
- Ability to learn new software, systems, and administrative processes
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
- Professional, dependable, and trustworthy
- Strong interpersonal and customer-service skills
- Ability to work independently while also contributing to a team environment
- Proactive approach to identifying tasks, following up, and solving problems
