Placement Coordinator (Part Time)

This is a part-time, permanent position working 30 hours per week across our sites.
In return, you will receive a competitive annual salary of £21,150 (£26,085 FTE).
The Role
Working within our Placement team, the Placement Coordinator is responsible for sourcing, coordinating, and monitoring high-quality work placement opportunities that align with curriculum requirements and career aspirations.

What you'll be doing
The key focus of this role is to work closely with employers, students, curriculum teams, parents/carers, and external partners to build and maintain effective relationships to deliver meaningful placement experiences and positive learner outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with employers and external organisations to secure high-quality industry placements and work experience opportunities for students
- Work collaboratively with Academic Tutors and curriculum teams to prepare students for industry placements, including supporting the development of CVs, applications, interview skills, and workplace readiness
- Provide guidance, support, and monitoring to students throughout their placement journey, ensuring a positive learning experience and successful outcomes

- Ensure students receive an appropriate induction, including health and safety requirements
- Monitor student engagement, attendance, and progress
- Support the completion of learning logs and placement documentation
- Evaluate the impact of placements on student development, achievement, and progression
- Liaise effectively with employers and curriculum staff to address any issues or support needs
- Ensure all placements are risk assessed, authorised, and managed in accordance with college safeguarding, health and safety, and placement procedures
- Act as the first point of contact for placement-related enquiries, resolving queries, concerns, and complaints in a professional and timely manner

About You
- GCSE Grade 9-4 (previously A-C) in English and Maths, or Level 2 Functional Skills in English and Maths
- Proven experience in a similar customer facing role
- Confident in working towards and achieving targets
- Experienced in multitasking and being highly organised
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Confidence using digital systems and Microsoft Office
- Knowledge and awareness of safeguarding in an educational setting
