As a key player within the Bosch Home Comfort division, we develop and manufacture world-class heating and cooling solutions. We belong to the Electric Solutions (ES) business unit, which leads the global energy transition through the development of modern and innovative heat pump technology. For our high-efficiency systems to function optimally, our network of over 1,000 service technicians across Europe – as well as our development laboratories – relies on reliable and modern desktop applications and software tools. We are now looking for a dedicated Software Developer for our team in Tranås. In this role, you will take ownership of central applications such as our field tool SWDL (Software Download) and develop customized tools for logging, data collection, and diagnostics that facilitate the daily work of our testing engineers in the lab during the verification of heat pumps.

About the role

Development of desktop applications: Design, build, and maintain modern Windows applications using C# and the .NET ecosystem (.NET Framework / modern .NET). Supporting lab engineers: Develop intuitive tools for data logging, monitoring, and diagnostics used by testing engineers to capture and analyze system behaviors in real-time during lab tests. Flashing and software updates: Manage and improve stable routines for software downloading and flashing of firmware, both for lab environments and for field service operations. Communication with hardware and devices: Implement and support robust communication interfaces between the desktop software and embedded control systems or test equipment (for example, serial communication and CAN-bus). Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with embedded systems (firmware) developers, hardware specialists, and testing engineers to align requirements and verify new versions of the tools. Usability and continuous improvement: Improve UI/UX, automate data visualization, and streamline workflows so that complex diagnostic and testing processes become simple and reliable. Requirements Education: University or Master's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, software engineering, or equivalent practical experience. Good competence in C#: Solid experience in software development for desktop with C# and .NET. Understanding of hardware communication and diagnostics: Experience with software that communicates with hardware, device communication (e.g., CAN-bus), as well as diagnostic or flashing routines (such as UDS and bootloaders). Knowledge of Python (merit): Experience with Python is a big plus for scripting, test automation, data analysis, and rapid prototyping. Understanding of embedded systems (merit): Knowledge of C or C++ is a merit and facilitates dialogue and collaboration with the developers programming the microcontrollers. Experience with lab environments and measurement tools: Practical background in test tools, data loggers, telemetry, or test automation is highly meritorious. Analytical problem solver: A structured and methodical approach to troubleshooting software interaction with hardware and analyzing communication logs. Language skills: Very good proficiency in English, both spoken and written, is a requirement. Knowledge of Swedish is highly meritorious for daily collaboration on-site in Tranås.
