About BOGAN Foundation

BOGAN Foundation is a strengths-first nonprofit supporting neurodivergent youth and families through Literacy, Advocacy, STEM, and Future-Readiness .

Our programs help youth strengthen communication, confidence, self-advocacy, technical skills, creativity, and exposure to future opportunities while helping families feel informed and supported.

As BOGAN expands its community presence, we are building a volunteer team in Nigeria to help us learn from local communities, develop meaningful relationships, and support programming and community engagement in ways that are culturally relevant and locally informed.

Different Minds. Brilliant Futures.

About the Volunteer Role

We’re looking for thoughtful, dependable people in Nigeria who want to help build something meaningful from the ground up.

This is not simply an event volunteer position. Depending on your skills and interests, volunteers may contribute to community outreach, partnerships, programs, communications, research, events, STEM activities, family engagement, or local chapter development.

We’re especially interested in people with backgrounds or interests in education, psychology, social work, STEM/technology, communications, nonprofit work, youth development, community engagement, business, fundraising, healthcare, advocacy, or program management.

What You May Help With

Volunteers may support BOGAN by helping us identify community needs and resources, build relationships with schools and organizations, support youth and family activities, assist with local events, research partnership opportunities, help coordinate volunteers, contribute professional expertise, and provide insight into Nigerian culture and community needs.

Some volunteers may eventually take on additional responsibility based on their interests, consistency, skills, and the needs of the chapter.

What We’re Looking For

You do not need to have nonprofit experience.

We’re looking for people who are dependable, collaborative, respectful of neurodiversity, comfortable communicating with a distributed international team, and genuinely interested in creating opportunities for youth and families.

We value people who can bring local knowledge to the table. We do not want to simply bring an American model into Nigeria and assume it fits. The people closest to the community should help shape how the work develops locally.

Expectations

This is a volunteer, unpaid position. There is currently no salary, stipend, or guaranteed future paid employment associated with the role. Most volunteers should be able to contribute approximately 3–5 hours per month , depending on assignments and availability. Volunteers are expected to communicate consistently, follow through on commitments, protect confidential information, participate in occasional virtual meetings, and represent BOGAN Foundation professionally.

Because BOGAN works with youth and families, some positions involving direct participant interaction may require additional screening, training, consent procedures, or background checks before volunteering directly with participants.

Why Volunteer With BOGAN?

You’ll have the opportunity to contribute your experience and ideas, help shape an emerging community initiative, collaborate with professionals across different countries and industries, develop nonprofit and community-impact experience, and help create more opportunities for neurodivergent youth and families.

We’re looking for people who want to do more than add something to a résumé.

We’re looking for people who want to help build.

Qualifications

Candidates should possess skills in Finance and strong Analytical Skills to review budgets, interpret reports, and support sound financial oversight. Candidates should possess Research skills to help assess community needs, identify best practices, and inform program and funding strategies. Candidates should possess Fundraising skills to support donor outreach, sponsorship development, grant initiatives, and fundraising events. Candidates should possess Marketing skills to enhance community awareness, support branding and messaging, and promote programs and events. Relevant experience in nonprofit governance, community advocacy, education, mental health, or neurodiversity-focused initiatives is beneficial. Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders, communicate clearly, and commit time to regular meetings and occasional events in the Atlanta Metropolitan Area is expected. Prior service on boards or advisory councils, or leadership experience in community organizations, is a plus.
