Job Title: Commercial Executive (Japan Business)

About the role

BLU Maritime Consultancy provides ship catering, provisioning and related consultancy services to shipowners and managers across Asia and beyond. We are seeking a Commercial Executive to manage client relationships and coordinate the supply of provisions to vessels, with a particular focus on our Japanese client portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

• Communicate with clients to plan, coordinate and arrange the supply of provisions and stores to vessels
• Maintain fast, professional response times on emails and client enquiries
• Liaise between the company and Japanese-speaking clients, bridging language and business-culture differences
• Support cargo/vessel coordination and post-supply documentation to ensure accuracy
• Build and strengthen long-term client relationships

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from a recognised university
• Experience in the maritime sector with sound knowledge of ship operations
• Knowledge of ship-chandelling (ship supply/provisioning) and ship-management operations
• Business-level Japanese (written and spoken), together with strong English, to serve Japanese maritime clients
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office — Excel and Word — and general computer applications
• Strong communication skills, responsiveness and a client-service mindset
• A genuine passion for food and cuisine, suited to a catering and provisioning business
