School counselor /skolkurator

We need a person with experience in the field and preferably in a school environment. As this is an international school you should feel comfortable to work with students and staff of various cultural backgrounds.

• Listen to students’ concerns about academic, emotional or social problems
• Help students process their problems and plan goals and action
• Partake in the CARE team to assist in student conflict resolutions, bullying prevention programs, and student safety promotion
• Organize peer counseling programs as part of the CARE team
• Support teachers in regard to student
• Support parent - children relationships
• Assist parents in their role in regard to students at school
• Partake in the Resource Teams
• Work on academic boards to improve learning conditions
• Align Pastoral Care program with external support for students
• Hold sexual education for students - next year: organize sexual education team with teachers
• Refer students to psychologists, other mental health resources and social services.
• Partake in contacts and action planning meetings with outside agencies
• Facilitate drug and alcohol prevention programs, also for parents
• Facilitate internet safety information and prevention
• Program for incoming and exiting students
• Organize information evenings for parents
• Advocate for students’ rights and well-being at school
• Stay up to date with laws pertaining to school
• Receive consultation every 3 weeks.

Bladins Skola är en friskola i Malmö bestående av förskola, grundskola, internationell skola och gymnasium, totalt ca 1500 elever. Vi har ca 250 helårsanställda medarbetare varav huvuddelen är pedagoger. Skolan har funnits sedan 1874 och drivs i stiftelseform utan vinstintresse. Verksamheten bedrivs på tre olika platser i Malmö: gymnasiet i Rönneholmsgården, internationella skolan och förskolorna vid Själlandstorget samt grundskolan på Stadiongatan. Den gemensamma administrationen finns i lokalerna vid Själlandstorget. Skolan har ett öppet klimat med korta beslutsvägar samt ett stort föräldraengagemang.
