THE WHY

At Blackwave, we develop and manufacture Composite Overwrapped Pressure Vessels and carbon structures for spaceflight — hardware where failure is not an option. As we grow from one location in Germany to two — with our new plant in Texas — quality cannot be a paper tiger. We are looking for a Quality Manager who will build a pragmatic, ISO 9001-compliant quality management system for our Texas location from the ground up, keep our German QMS sharp, and create a quality culture that engineers, operators, and management truly live — and that doesn't gather dust in a document folder.

THE WHAT

• Responsible for ISO 9001 at both locations: You maintain the certification in Germany and build it up in Texas. You prepare all audits — internal, certification, and customer — together with the teams so that they are passed without Major Findings. Blackwave Code: High Performance

YOUR PROFILE

• 3–5+ years of experience in quality management in a manufacturing environment — you have stood on the shop floor, not just in the office
• Completed technical degree (e.g., Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering) plus relevant further training in quality management
• Hands-on ISO 9001 experience: You have managed audit cycles yourself and can explain a process you built to us end-to-end
• Pragmatic understanding of quality: You build processes for application, not just for compliance — standards are enablers for you, not bureaucracy
• Builder mentality: You create structures from the ground up instead of just managing existing ones — and you see a bit of chaos as an opportunity
• Strong ownership and communication at all levels — from C-Level to operator
• Fluent English is a must; German is a plus
