Opportunity for JR RESEARCHER - headquarters in Curitiba, come join our #BioTeam! Biotrop Soluções Biológicas is a Brazilian company, the result of the vision and entrepreneurship of a select group of professionals passionate about agribusiness. We act with a focus on research and development of innovative solutions, with the aim of contributing to a more sustainable, healthy, and regenerative agriculture.

Mission: To act in the development of biological solutions, focusing on arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (FMA) of endophytic character, contributing innovation to sustainable agribusiness.

Responsibilities and duties Activities: · Sampling: Collection and processing of soil and root samples from different crops and regions.

· Isolation: Isolation of FMA spores by wet sieving and decantation, with screening under a stereomicroscope.

· Cultivation: Multiplication and establishment of cultures in trap plants (braquiária, sorgo, milho) under controlled conditions.

· Morphological Id.: Morphological identification of isolates (size, color, wall, and supporting hyphae of the spores) with the aid of atlases and taxonomic keys.

· Isolate bank: Maintenance of the company's isolate bank.

· Spore counting: Quantification of spores in soil samples (extraction and counting).

· Root colonization: Estimation of root colonization (clarification, staining with trypan blue, and fresh sectioning) and calculation of the colonization percentage using the grid intersection method.

· Validation: Validation and documentation of counting methodologies according to quality requirements.

· Data analysis: Statistical analysis and interpretation of data (means, deviations, comparison between treatments).

· Micropropagation: Micropropagation of FMA isolates under in vitro and in vivo conditions.

· Culture media: Preparation of culture media.

· Cultivation control: Control of asepsis, sterility, and incubation (temperature, humidity, photoperiod).

· Optimization: Optimization of multiplication protocols on a laboratory scale.

· Sterilization: Sterilization of glassware, culture media, solutions, and instruments (autoclave, sterilization oven, and flaming with a Bunsen burner).

· Solution preparation: Preparation and packaging of solutions, buffers, and reagents.

· Equipment: Operation and calibration of laboratory equipment (autoclave, balances, pHmeters, centrifuges, laminar flow hood, microscopes).

· GLP and biosafety: Application of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP): biosafety standards, use of PPE/EPC, and aseptic conduct.

· Infrastructure: Infrastructure control and maintenance of laboratories and equipment.

· Laboratory notebook: Rigorous recording in a laboratory notebook (test conditions, methodologies, results).

· Reports and SOPs: Preparation of technical reports, protocols, and SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).

· Traceability: Sample control and traceability of tests.

· Presentations: Presentation of results and syntheses to the technical team.

Requirements and qualifications To participate you need: Education: Degree in Biotechnology, Biological Sciences, Agronomy, or related areas. Post-graduation: Post-graduation (master's or doctorate) in Microbiology, Mycology, or related areas. Experience: Proven experience with endophytic FMA and prospecting and counting techniques. Techniques: Mastery of micropropagation and cultivation of microorganisms. Languages: Good written and oral communication; intermediate English.
