Senior/ Principal Engineer - Perm Role
About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Senior / Principal Communications Systems Engineer to join a team responsible for delivering, operating, and maintaining mission-critical communications systems that support essential national infrastructure operations.
This role offers the opportunity to work with advanced communications, networking, cybersecurity, and radio communication technologies in a highly operational 24/7 environment. You will be involved in system enhancements, project implementation, technology evaluation, and stakeholder engagement with both local and international partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the operations and maintenance of 24/7 mission-critical communications systems.
- Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve technical and system-related issues.
- Plan and implement hardware and software enhancements to improve system performance and reliability.
- Manage maintenance contracts, system enhancement initiatives, and new technology projects.
- Collaborate with operational users, vendors, contractors, and internal technical teams to ensure smooth system operations.
- Conduct system testing, commissioning, and acceptance activities.
- Evaluate emerging communications technologies and recommend suitable solutions.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, reports, and presentations.
- Ensure systems comply with industry standards, regulations, and cybersecurity best practices.
- Engage with local and international stakeholders on communications and related technology initiatives.
Requirements
Education
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience for Senior Engineer level.
- Candidates with extensive experience may be considered for Principal Engineer positions.
- Experience supporting mission-critical, high-availability, or operational technology environments.
