For more information, visit www.betolar.com We are looking for a customer-oriented Solution Design Engineer to lead the development and commercialization of innovative solutions to protect critical infrastructure and strengthen resilience. The Role As a Solution Design Engineer, you will work closely with the leadership of our Critical Infrastructure Protection business and play a key role in transforming innovative concepts into commercially successful products and solutions. You will drive product development activities spanning the full lifecycle from concept creation, R&D through engineering, piloting, and commercialization. Working with customers, engineering partners, suppliers, and internal stakeholders, you will translate customer needs and emerging opportunities into scalable and commercially viable solution offerings. This role combines technical product development, customer engagement, and technical sales. You will thrive in a dynamic environment in which creating structure, managing uncertainty, and independently driving initiatives forward are essential to success. Key Responsibilities Drive scalable solution development of Critical Protection Solutions from concept and R&D through commercialization

Translate customer needs and technical concepts into actionable development plans and product requirements

Work closely with engineering teams, suppliers, and external partners to guide development activities, evaluating alternative solutions and making sound decisions in complex and evolving environments

Support and drive technical sales, customer engagement, and proposal preparation

What You Bring Civil, electrical or mechanical engineer, with 2–5-year experience in solution development from concept and R&D through engineering to commercialization

Strong customer-facing skills and ability to support technical sales activities, ability to translate complex technical concepts into practical and commercially attractive solutions

Ability to independently develop concepts and drive initiatives forward, working with multidisciplinary engineering teams

A proactive and entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to thrive in uncertain and fast-changing environments

Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Finnish and English

Experience with 3D design tools is considered an advantage

Experience from infrastructure projects within critical infrastructure, energy, utilities, construction, defense, and/or resilience is considered an advantage.
