LIQUOR BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT & DISTRIBUTION MANAGER

About the Role We are looking for an experienced and highly connected Liquor Business Development & Distribution Manager to develop and grow our liquor business in Singapore. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of the liquor industry and existing relationships with duty-free shops, retailers, supermarkets, liquor shops, wholesalers, distributors, bars, restaurants, hotels and event organisers. This is a hands-on commercial role. You will be responsible for bringing our liquor brands into the market, securing distribution channels and generating sales.
Key Responsibilities 1. Business Development & Sales • Identify and secure new customers and distribution channels. • Develop relationships with liquor retailers, supermarkets, wholesalers, bars, restaurants and hotels. • Pitch and negotiate product listings, pricing, margins and promotional arrangements. • Develop monthly and yearly sales targets.
2. Duty-Free & Travel Retail • Develop relationships with duty-free operators and travel-retail buyers. • Explore opportunities at Changi Airport and other travel-retail channels. • Negotiate product listings, promotions and brand activations. • Manage relationships with key decision makers and buyers. 3. Import & Distribution • Understand the Singapore liquor import and distribution process. • Coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders, warehouses and logistics partners. • Work closely with management on product pricing, landed cost and distribution strategy. • Ensure commercial activities comply with applicable Singapore liquor and customs requirements. Candidates should understand that commercial liquor imports are subject to applicable duty/GST requirements; Singapore Customs also has specific arrangements for businesses dealing in imported dutiable liquor. 4. Retail Sales • Secure listings with liquor shops, supermarkets and specialty retailers. • Develop promotional campaigns and retail activations. • Monitor sell-through, inventory and customer feedback. • Identify opportunities for new products and new accounts.
5. Events & Brand Activation • Organise liquor tasting events, product launches and promotional events. • Develop partnerships with restaurants, bars, hotels, clubs and event organisers. • Create opportunities for brands to be sampled and promoted directly to consumers. • Attend evening and weekend events when required.
Requirements • 3–5+ years of relevant experience in liquor, spirits, wine, beverage distribution or FMCG sales. • Existing network of contacts within Singapore’s liquor and retail industry. • Experience dealing with duty-free, retailers, wholesalers and/or distributors. • Good understanding of liquor brands, categories and market trends. • Strong sales, negotiation and business development skills. • Experience organising tastings, promotions or consumer events. • Strong communication and presentation skills. • Able to work independently and develop new business from zero. • Existing customer network is a major advantage. • WSET qualification or equivalent liquor knowledge is an advantage. This is more than an office-based sales position. The person will be expected to actively meet customers, attend industry events, develop partnerships and generate new business.
Compensation Basic Salary: S$3,500 – S$5,000/month Commission: Attractive commission based on sales and new accounts Performance Bonus: Based on achievement of agreed targets
For a highly experienced candidate with an established liquor industry network, a higher basic salary can be considered.
