Field Service Engineer

As a field service engineer, you are responsible for the startup of the test machines, both during the testing phase in the workshop in Brugge and during the startup at the customer's site. Your responsibilities are varied, but the emphasis lies mainly on the automation part (PLC and PC). During the startup of the machine, you are responsible for, among other things, the installation and configuration of PLC and computer hardware, as well as the testing and debugging of the associated programs.

You are responsible for performing the various incoming inspections and testing the quality and repeatability of these machines. You carry out the conforming checklists and prepare the corresponding reports. You ensure the necessary documentation is provided upon the handover of the machines.

You analyze and synthesize technical problems in consultation with the customer. Based on your practical experience, you inform the Engineering department and project management about bottlenecks and make improvement proposals. You play a role in the development, realization, and implementation of changes to the machines and actively participate in meetings to share your improvement proposals.

You are responsible for the training of both operators and maintenance personnel on-site at our customers and you prepare the necessary training documents for this purpose.

You provide first-line support to customers and prepare reports after interventions, training, and assistance. You are responsible for the composition of intervention kits in collaboration with the Customer Service department.

Finally, you perform impartial and confidential measurements in the lab and at customers under the authority of the lab, in accordance with ISO 17025 and ISO9001.

• Bachelor Electromechanics or equivalent through experience
• Recently graduated bachelors are eligible as a junior profile
• Knowledge of multiple automation and IT systems
• Experience in a service function is a plus
• Strong mechanical insight and broad technical knowledge
• Working autonomously and a sense of responsibility
• Team player, social and communicative
• Eager to learn personality
• Creative and practically oriented
• Flexible availability
• Dutch-speaking is desirable, but not an absolute must
• Fluent in English, multilingualism (French or German) is desired
• Willing to travel domestically and abroad for up to two weeks with a guideline of 50% of working time on an annual basis.
