We are looking for Healthcare Assistants to join our team. Our Healthcare Assistant works as a member of a team delivering care to the residents of Beech Lodge Care Facility Kilmallock Road Bruree Co Limerick V35 E868

What will you need to do:

• Supporting the nursing staff and team in delivering quality person-centred care to meet the needs of residents.
• Getting to know residents’ interests and needs, providing attention, support and companionship.
• Promoting the mobility of residents, supervising and assisting as necessary to ensure optimum mobility is maintained and improved where possible.
• Enabling and assisting residents to maintain their personal appearance /hygiene needs whilst always maintaining their dignity.
• Enabling and assisting residents to eat/drink and achieve physical comfort.
• Participating, organising and carrying out social activities.
• Sustaining a high level of communication between residents’ families and staff, developing good relationships.
• Assisting in the upkeep of high standards of cleanliness in the home.
• Contributing to the maintenance of Health and Safety in the home.
• Care for each resident like they are your own family.
• Any other duties deemed necessary by the Nurse in Charge and management

What are the qualifications/skills needed?

• FETAC/QQI Level 5 qualification in Healthcare (or equivalent) in all relevant modules.
• Some experience working in a healthcare environment preferred.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to maintain a positive approach in a sometimes-challenging environment.
• Good command of the English language, both written and oral

Job Types: Full-time

Pay: €16.12 per hour or €32,691.36 minimum annual remuneration

Expected hours: 39 hours per week

Schedule:

• 12 hour shift
• Day shift
• Night shift
• Weekend availability

Experience:

• Healthcare: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

• Level 5 in healthcare support (preferred)
• Driving Licence (preferred)
• QQI Level 5 in Healthcare (preferred)
• QQI Level 5 in Healthcare Support (preferred)
