Principal Architect, Banking Technology (Singapore)

About the Role

A technology services provider is looking for a senior architect to lead the technical direction of its banking work in Singapore. You’ll work with client architects and engineering leads, and guide teams here and offshore.

What You’ll Do

• Design and oversee the architecture of banking platforms, including digital, payments and corporate banking.
• Guide modernisation of existing applications towards cloud-based, modular designs.
• Identify where AI and GenAI can add real value in banking, with proper security and governance.
• Set the engineering and API standards that teams follow.
• Review technical risk and effort estimates when proposals are being put together.
• Coach architects and senior engineers.

What You Bring

• 15+ years in software engineering and architecture, with recent hands-on design work
• A strong Java and microservices background, plus API design and event-driven systems
• Experience with high-volume transaction systems and enterprise databases
• Modern delivery practices: CI/CD, containers, automated and contract-based testing
• Domain knowledge in payments, transaction banking, digital banking or core banking
• A practical view of how to bring AI services into enterprise architecture
• Bonus: Kubernetes, serverless, performance engineering, front-end exposure, agentic AI
