Your tasks
About this role: We are seeking an energetic, internationally-minded teacher committed to academic excellence, inclusive practice, and educating the whole child. You will teach German to Primary School students (Grades 1 to 5), guiding them through the IB PYP framework. By fostering an engaging and supportive environment, you will build student confidence and inspire a love for the German language.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING ACTIVITIES
- Instruction : Teach German (Language and Literature and German Language Acquisition) to Primary School students (Grades 1 to 5) through the IBPYP framework.
- Development : Support concept-based inquiry in German teaching and learning. Plan, assess, and report against clear learning outcomes.
- Inclusion : Work in an inclusive environment with a diverse cohort of students and differentiate to accommodate individual learning needs.
- Support : Promote student well-being in the German classroom and beyond. Demonstrate a strong belief that all students can succeed in the German language, building their confidence through the acquisition of foundational content, skills, and understandings.
- Collaboration : Collaborate with colleagues, embrace opportunities for team teaching, and participate actively in the school’s ambitious and dynamic community.
Your profile
YOUR QUALIFICATION
- Education : Primary German Teaching certification.
- Experience : PYP experience is preferable (not mandatory).
- Language : Native-level fluency in German and highly proficient communication skills in English.
- Profile : Energetic, internationally-minded, and proactive professional with a high level of initiative. Ability to motivate and inspire students and colleagues alike.
- Attributes : Resilient team player with a positive "can-do" growth mindset. Willing to learn, take risks, and engage in after-school activities to support student learning.

MANDATORY LEGAL CHECKLIST
To comply with German legal requirements and our high Safeguarding and CIS accreditation standards, the following documentation is required before work start:
- Work Permit: Valid German permit preferred; visa support available for long-term commitments.
- Measles Immunity: Medical proof (if born after 1970).
- Degrees: Original certificate + official proof of comparability.
- Background Checks: Police clearances from all countries of residence (needed early for mandatory Unterrichtsanzeige).
- Gap-free CV: Complete professional history check (CIS requirement).
- Safeguarding Training: Mandatory BBIS session (invitation follows).
OUR OFFER
- Location : Kleinmachnow (Berlin region)
- Contract type : Full-time, fixed-term contract for the purpose of a maternity/parental leave replacement
- Duration : The contract is tied to the duration of the maternity/parental leave of the current post holder. For academic planning purposes, we are currently seeking coverage for the 2026/27 academic year. The exact duration is yet to be confirmed.
- Start date: 1st August 2026
- Working hours: 30 teaching units per week / 40 working hours per week
- Salary range : €55,059 - €61,885 gross/year (based on experience/classification) plus annual CPI-based adjustments / potential responsibility stipends
