Your tasks

About the role: We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Data Engineer to help shape, scale, and continuously improve our enterprise data platform while driving strategic data initiatives across the organization. In this role, you will be at the centre of major transformation programs, enabling trusted, scalable, and business-ready data products that support critical business capabilities such as Integrating Finance systems, existing AI solutions, Data as a Product (DaaP), Supply Chain Analytics, Commercial Reporting, and future AI initiatives. Beyond delivering individual solutions, you will play a key role in driving our long-term data strategy. This includes helping evolve our platform towards a Data as a Product (DaaP) operating model, enabling domain-oriented ownership, and supporting the adoption of Data Mesh principles to create scalable, reusable, and business-focused data products. You will work closely with business stakeholders, data product owners, analysts, developers, and platform teams to build robust data solutions that create measurable business value.

Data Platform Development

• Build and own scalable data pipelines and integration solutions our data warehouse and data platform.
• Integrate and transform data from ERP, CRM, finance, and other enterprise systems.
• Ensure high standards of data quality, reliability, performance, and operational excellence.
• Contribute to the continuous evolution of our cloud-based analytics and data platform.
• Contribute to security, access management, and governance requirements.
• Ensure compliance with enterprise standards and best practices.

Data Product & Business Enablement

• Partner with business stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable data products and solutions.
• Support the implementation of Data as a Product (DaaP) and Data Mesh principles across business domains.
• Enable self-service analytics through trusted, well-governed, and well-documented datasets.
• Develop a strong understanding of business processes and help turn business challenges into data-driven solutions.

Strategic Project Delivery

• Take a leading engineering role in initiatives such as:
• Finance systems integration and transformation initiatives
• AI Enablement Initiatives and data foundations for AI-powered solutions
• Financial, commercial, and supply chain analytics
• Enterprise Reporting & Self-Service BI

Collaboration & Leadership

• Work closely with product owners, business stakeholders, analysts, and fellow engineers.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote engineering best practices.
• Participate in technical design discussions and solution reviews.
• Drive continuous improvement of development processes and platform capabilities.

Requirements

Required Experience

• 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, Analytics Engineer, or similar role.
• Strong experience building modern cloud-based data platforms.
• Proven expertise in: Azure Cloud infrastructure ( Azure Data Factory / Databricks), SQL, Python
• Strong understanding of dimensional data modelling, analytical data structures, and modern lakehouse/data warehousing architectures.
• ETL / ELT development
• Experience integrating data from ERP, CRM, financial, and operational systems.
• Deep understanding of data quality, performance optimization, and operational support.
• Experience working in agile cross-functional teams.
• Strong communication skills in English. German is a plus

Nice to Have

• Experience with Microsoft Fabric or similar modern analytics platforms.
• Experience supporting AI and Machine Learning use cases.
• Knowledge of Power BI semantic models and analytical consumption layers.
• Understanding of Data as a Product and Data Mesh concepts.
• Exposure to finance and controlling processes.
• Experience working in international organizations.
