We are looking for a Head Chef for our client, BisouBisou, for a permanent position in Helsinki, Kalasatama.

In this role, you will not only be responsible for the daily operations of the kitchen, but you will also have the opportunity to develop the restaurant's offerings, lead a skilled team, and truly influence the development of the business.

The position is also suitable for someone who has served, for example, as a sous chef or shift supervisor and is ready to take the next step in their career as a Head Chef. You will receive good support from the restaurant management and an experienced team.

Team and work environment

You will not be starting from scratch.

You will lead an international kitchen team of approximately 15 people, which is strengthened with additional staff during seasons. In the role of Head Chef, you are responsible for leading the entire kitchen organization and act as the direct supervisor for shift supervisors and other kitchen staff.

Approximately 50 professionals work in the entire restaurant. Cooperation between the floor and the kitchen is tight, and one of the greatest strengths of the work community is the excellent atmosphere. Here, it is believed that the best results are achieved together.

The restaurant has approximately 160 seats and is open from Mon-Sat, and the pace of work can be fast at times during seasons. Therefore, we are looking for someone who thrives in a busy environment and knows how to lead operations calmly even under pressure.

In this role, you will be responsible for, among other things:

• The daily management of the kitchen and the entirety of its operations
• Supervision, coaching, and onboarding of the kitchen team
• Menu planning together with the restaurant management
• Developing menus and seasonal products
• Shift planning and resource allocation
• Ordering and inventory management
• Cost monitoring and procurement management
• Checking and approving invoices
• Self-monitoring and quality assurance
• Working in the kitchen as support for the operational team
• Continuous development of operations

What do we expect from you?

• At least two years of experience in supervisory roles in a restaurant kitchen
• Understanding of the basics of French cuisine
• Experience in à la carte and high-volume restaurant operations
• Strong organizational and leadership skills
• The ability to make decisions even in busy situations
• Good stress tolerance
• Fluent English skills

Finnish language skills are considered an advantage but are not essential for the position. We also consider international applicants.
