SAP Technical Consultant – ABAP / Fiori / Cloud
Job Description
We are looking for a SAP Technical Consultant with strong experience in SAP ABAP, Fiori/UI5, SAP BTP, Cloud development, and Clean Core principles.
Key Technical Requirements
Must Have
- Strong SAP ABAP development experience
- Strong SAP Fiori / UI5 development experience
- Hands-on experience with SAP CAP (Cloud Application Programming Model)
- Hands-on experience with SAP RAP (RESTful Application Programming Model)
- Strong understanding of SAP S/4HANA Cloud / Public Cloud
- Strong understanding of Clean Core principles and SAP Cloud Extensibility
- Experience with SAP BTP
- Experience working with released APIs and services
- Experience with OData V2/V4, REST and SOAP integrations
- Ability to develop and consume SAP APIs
- Experience with CDS Views and modern ABAP development
Good to Have
- Experience with RISE with SAP
- Experience with GROW with SAP
- SAP BTP Cloud Foundry
- SAP Build / Business Application Studio
- SAP Integration Suite
- SAP Work Zone
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA Cloud extensibility

ABAP / Fiori Scope
The consultant will also be responsible for supporting the project's ABAP and Fiori development requirements, including:
ABAP Development
- Development of ABAP reports and applications
- Enhancements and extensions using supported SAP extensibility approaches
- Development of CDS Views
- Development and consumption of APIs
- OData service development and integration
- ABAP OO development
- Development of interfaces and integrations
- Debugging and troubleshooting of ABAP applications
- Performance analysis and optimization
- Technical analysis of existing developments
- Production support and resolution of technical issues
- Migration or remediation of existing custom developments where required
Fiori / UI5 Development
- Development of SAP Fiori applications using SAPUI5
- Development of freestyle UI5 applications where required
- Development and extension of Fiori applications
- Integration of Fiori applications with OData, CAP and RAP services
- Implementation of value helps, filters, tables, forms and other UI components
- Fiori application deployment through SAP BTP / appropriate SAP cloud environments
- Troubleshooting and performance optimization of Fiori applications
- Understanding of Fiori architecture and frontend/backend integration
Cloud & Clean Core Scope
A major part of the role will be ensuring that technical solutions follow SAP's CleanCore strategy.
The consultant should be able to:
- Identify whether a requirement should be implemented using standard SAP functionality, key-user extensibility, developer extensibility, or side-by-side extensibility.
- Develop extensions outside the SAP core where appropriate.
- Use CAP for side-by-side extensions and custom applications.
- Use RAP and released SAP capabilities for supported developer extensibilityscenarios.
- Consume released APIs instead of relying on unreleased SAP objects.
- Avoid unnecessary modifications or extensions to SAP standard objects.
- Assess existing custom developments and identify opportunities for CleanCore-compliant alternatives.
Integration Scope
The consultant may also support:
- REST APIs
- SOAP Web Services
- OData V2/V4
- SAP released APIs
- CAP-based integrations
- SAP BTP integrations
- External system integrations
- Data mapping and transformation
- Error handling and monitoring
Responsibilities
- Analyse functional requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Provide technical design and development estimates
- Develop and test ABAP, Fiori/UI5, CAP and RAP solutions
- Work closely with functional consultants and business stakeholders
- Perform code reviews and ensure development standards are followed
- Ensure solutions comply with SAP Cloud and Clean Core principles
- Troubleshoot technical issues and provide production support
- Support testing, deployment and technical documentation
- Participate in technical discussions and provide guidance to other developers
- Act as a technical SME when required
