The Opportunity
Are you an experienced Quality Inspector with a background in manufacturing or engineering? Do you have a keen eye for detail, a passion for precision and the confidence to ensure products meet the highest quality standards? I’m working with an established engineering business in Pontypool that is looking to recruit a Quality Inspector to join its team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who understands the demands of a manufacturing environment and takes pride in getting things right first time. You’ll play an important role in maintaining product quality throughout the manufacturing process, from inspecting incoming materials and components through to checking finished products. Working closely with Production and Quality Management, you’ll help identify issues, investigate defects and drive improvements to ensure products consistently meet the required specifications. With a competitive salary, flexible working hours and a great benefits package, this is an opportunity to join a business where quality, accuracy and continuous improvement are key.
What will you be doing?
- Inspecting products and materials: Carry out quality inspections on incoming materials, components, work in progress and finished goods to ensure they meet engineering specifications and quality standards.
- Dimensional inspection and measurement: Use appropriate measuring equipment and inspection tools to check product dimensions, tolerances and conformance to specifications.
- Interpreting technical information: Work from engineering drawings, technical documentation and inspection criteria to verify product accuracy.
- Identifying quality issues: Detect defects, discrepancies and non-conformances, ensuring concerns are recorded and communicated promptly to the relevant teams.
- Maintaining quality records: Complete inspection reports, measurement results and associated documentation accurately and within required timescales.
- Investigating problems: Support root cause analysis and corrective actions to resolve quality issues and prevent repeat occurrences.
- Working with Production: Collaborate with manufacturing colleagues to address quality concerns, minimise rework and maintain a right-first-time approach.
- Maintaining standards: Ensure inspection equipment is properly maintained and calibrated, following established quality procedures and health and safety requirements.
- Supporting continuous improvement: Contribute to quality initiatives, audits and process improvements that enhance product consistency and manufacturing performance.
