Responsibilities and assignments

Role challenges: Act technically in the R&D (Research, Development, and Innovation) of energy storage solutions, focusing on batteries, hybrid applications, and intelligent systems, contributing to:

  • Increasing the flexibility, reliability, and efficiency of the electrical system;
  • Evaluating, testing, and implementing Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) technologies and other emerging solutions;
  • Connecting innovation, operation, and regulation, aligning technological development with the challenges of the electricity sector;
  • Providing technical support for the formulation and execution of R&D projects in partnership with universities, research institutes, and companies.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and propose storage technologies for applications in generation, transmission, and distribution;
  • Support the preparation of R&D project proposals with funding agencies and strategic partners;
  • Manage the R&D project portfolio, from planning to scaling;
  • Perform technical studies on performance, durability, feasibility, and integration of storage systems;
  • Perform technical-economic feasibility studies of R&D Projects;
  • Monitor technological and regulatory trends in Brazil and abroad;
  • Interact with operational, regulatory, and research centers, such as CEPEL, as well as electricity sector stakeholders.

Requirements and qualifications

Mandatory

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Energy, Chemistry, or related areas;
  • Advanced English;
  • Previous experience in R&D projects related to storage systems, renewable energies, or smart grids;
  • Skill in R&D project management;

Desirable

  • Experience in modeling, simulation, or performance testing of storage systems.
  • Knowledge of tools such as HOMER, PSCAD, DigSILENT, or similar.
  • Experience with BESS integration to solar/wind plants or isolated systems.
  • Familiarity with technical standards and ANEEL regulation.
  • Fluent English.
