JOB OVERVIEW

This is an opportunity to take pride in accurate, high-quality warehouse and despatch work within a supportive manufacturing environment.

The Warehouse Operative / Despatch Operative will help ensure components are correctly identified, packaged and prepared for UK and international carriers, with accurate documentation and traceability.

Working closely with internal teams, the Warehouse Operative / Despatch Operative will support efficient customer deliveries while maintaining quality and safety standards.

The Warehouse Operative / Despatch Operative will also contribute to continuous improvement and wider warehouse and logistics activities when required.

DUTIES

Your duties as the Warehouse Operative / Despatch Operative include:

• Marking Components: Mark individual components to customer and specification requirements
• Packaging Components: Package components to customer, company and industry standards
• Preparing Goods for Despatch: Prepare goods for UK and overseas customers
• Registering Shipments: Register shipments using courier and carrier systems
• Maintaining Despatch Records: Complete and maintain accurate documentation and records
• Checking Documentation: Check products against route cards, certificates and customer documentation
• Ensuring Traceability: Confirm parts are correctly identified and traceable before shipment
• Coordinating Deliveries: Liaise with internal departments to coordinate customer deliveries
• Reporting Issues: Report discrepancies, damage or documentation issues promptly
• Maintaining the Work Area: Keep the working environment clean, safe and organised
• Supporting Improvement: Contribute to continuous improvement and quality initiatives
• Supporting Logistics Activities: Assist with general warehouse and logistics activities when required

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

ESSENTIAL

• Previous experience in a despatch, warehouse, logistics or manufacturing environment
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Experience handling documentation and shipping records
• Good organisational and time management skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Office
• Strong communication skills
• Commitment to quality, safety and customer service

DESIRABLE

• Experience using courier booking systems
• Forklift licence
