Your tasks

Working with clients, colleagues and other professionals, the Senior Structural Engineer will contribute to buildable, cost-effective designs that meet project objectives, standards, budgets and timelines.

The Senior Structural Engineer will combine structural analysis, design calculations and industry software expertise with clear client communication and a strong focus on quality, safety and technical development.

Your duties as the Senior Structural Engineer include

• Client and Team Collaboration: Work closely with clients, colleagues and other professionals using construction plans, drawings and specifications
• Design Development: Develop structural design ideas using current industry software
• Structural Analysis: Apply loadings and calculate stresses and load paths through different parts of structures
• Compliance and Safety: Ensure projects meet legal guidelines, environmental directives and health and safety requirements
• Tender Support: Prepare bids for tenders
• Quality Standards: Maintain quality service by following company standards
• Professional Development: Maintain professional and technical knowledge through educational workshops, professional publications, networks and professional societies
• Progress Reporting: Provide progress reports to clients and senior managers while contributing to wider team objectives

Requirements

An excellent opportunity for a structural design professional with previous structural design experience, robust structural mechanics knowledge, strong design calculation capability and industry software expertise to contribute to safe, efficient and buildable engineering solutions.

ESSENTIAL

• Robust knowledge of structural mechanics and engineering principles
• Excellent design calculation capability
• Previous experience in a structural design role
• Experience using relevant structural design software such as Tekla Structural Designer (Fastrak Building Designer), Fastrak Portal Frame, Masterframe / STAAD PRO and Masterseries Connections

DESIRABLE

• Experience in connection design
