JOB OVERVIEW

The Production Operative / Manufacturing Operative supports the careful manual finishing and visual inspection of precision-engineered components, helping ensure required quality and finish standards are achieved. Working closely with production colleagues, the Production Operative / Manufacturing Operative will use hand tools with care, follow established processes and contribute to a clean, safe and organised workplace.

DUTIES

Your duties as the Production Operative / Manufacturing Operative include:

• Manual Dressing and Finishing: Dress, deburr and finish precision-engineered components using hand tools
• S urface Preparation: Remove surface mismatches, imperfections, sharp edges and burrs to achieve the required finish
• Quality Inspection: Visually inspect completed work and report defects, damage or quality concerns
• Component Handling: Handle components carefully and work accurately to avoid damage
• Process Compliance: Follow work instructions, specifications and established processes
• Safe Tool Use: Use tools and equipment safely and correctly
• Workplace Standards: Maintain a clean, safe and organised working area and follow health and safety and quality procedures
• Team Working: Work effectively with colleagues across the production team

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

• Previous experience using hand tools in a practical or hands-on working environment
• Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to carry out precise, detailed work
• A patient, methodical and quality-focused approach
• Ability to follow instructions and established processes
• Reliable team-working skills
• Good awareness of workplace health and safety
