Job Mission

Lead and optimize production planning and inventory management for the Medellín plant, ensuring compliance with delivery schedules under demanding efficiency and productivity standards. You will be responsible for structuring and executing the plant's capacity model, aligning commercial demand with available operational resources within a specialized manufacturing environment (Graphic Arts, Packaging, and Printing).

Main Responsibilities

  1. Master Production Schedule (MPS)
  • Design, schedule, and control the Master Production Schedule (MPS) in the short, medium, and long term for the graphic arts and packaging lines.
  • Optimize the sequence of work orders to minimize setup times and maximize machinery utilization.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with operating standards and cycle times in high-demand and high-speed environments.
  1. Installed Capacity Management
  • Maintain and execute the plant's capacity model (machinery, labor, and shifts).
  • Identify operational bottlenecks and propose load leveling scenarios in response to demand fluctuations.
  1. Inventory Control and Optimization
  • Define and supervise optimal inventory levels for raw materials (substrates, inks, and supplies), work in process (WIP), and finished goods.
  • Monitor rotation indicators, obsolescence prevention, and system record accuracy (timely closing of orders).
  • Coordinate the timely replenishment and supply of materials in conjunction with the Purchasing and Supply Chain areas.
  1. Management Indicators (KPIs) and Operational Impact

Measure, report, and optimize the main area indicators:

  • PPC: Production Plan Compliance.
  • OTIF: On-Time In-Full.
  • DOS: Days of Supply.
  • OEE: Overall Equipment Effectiveness (availability and performance).
  • Scrap / Waste: Reduction of losses due to waste.
  1. Continuous Improvement and Inter-area Articulation
  • Propose and implement continuous improvement projects focused on production flow efficiency and supply chain optimization.
  • Guarantee fluid communication and constant synergy between Operations, Maintenance, Sales, and Customer Service.

Key improvements applied:

  • Labeling with key acronyms: Key technical terms such as MPS, WIP, OTIF, OEE, PPC, and DOS were integrated, which are the exact parameters that SmartRecruiters algorithms scan to qualify Supply Chain profiles.
  • Clear hierarchy: Descriptive headings that facilitate quick reading by recruiters and hiring managers.
  • Narrative consistency: An appropriate closing was given to the last point regarding continuous improvement and interaction with other areas.

  • University degree: Professional in Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering, Business Administration, or related fields.
  • Desirable: Specialization or certification in Supply Chain Management (APICS, CPIM, CSCP, or similar).

  • Minimum 3 to 4 years of experience as a Production Planner, Inventory Planner, or Operations Planner.
  • Experience in companies within the graphic arts, packaging, conversion, plastics, or manufacturing sector (discrete or continuous processes) with high productivity standards.
  1. Technical Knowledge and Tools
  • ERP Systems: Advanced mastery of ERPs (SAP - PP/MM modules, Oracle, or similar).
  • Planning Tools: Advanced Excel management (dynamic models, data analysis; desirable management of Macros/VBA).
  • Installed Capacity: Experience in capacity modeling, line balancing, and production scheduling.
  1. Languages
  • English: Intermediate - Advanced (B2) for interaction with suppliers, global systems, and executive reporting.
