AWS

£50,000 | Fully Remote, UK | Permanent

Are you an AWS-focused DevOps Engineer looking for a hands-on role where you can have a genuine impact on a live production environment?

We’re recruiting for an established UK technology business that develops and operates high-availability, data-driven platforms used by customers in fast-moving environments.

You’ll join an experienced engineering team and work alongside an existing DevOps Engineer, helping operate, support and improve the AWS infrastructure behind their production systems.

The Role

You’ll have plenty of opportunity to take ownership and make practical improvements across the environment, including:

  • Operating and improving production AWS infrastructure
  • Maintaining and improving CI/CD pipelines
  • Supporting Docker and Kubernetes environments
  • Automating deployment and operational processes
  • Improving monitoring, logging and alerting
  • Troubleshooting production and infrastructure issues
  • Reviewing cloud provisioning, scaling and performance
  • Identifying opportunities to improve AWS cost efficiency
  • Working closely with developers on deployment and runtime issues
  • Supporting security, backup and operational resilience

This isn’t a role where you’ll be expected to arrive and rebuild everything from scratch. You’ll be joining an established environment with genuine scope to improve how it operates.

What We’re Looking For

You’ll need hands-on experience supporting AWS infrastructure within a production environment, alongside experience with:

  • Linux administration and troubleshooting
  • CI/CD pipelines
  • Git-based workflows
  • Docker and containerised applications
  • Networking fundamentals
  • Infrastructure or operational automation
  • Monitoring, logs and metrics

Experience with Kubernetes/EKS, Terraform, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, Grafana, Prometheus or AWS cost optimisation would be particularly useful, although you don’t need everything on this list.

We’re looking for a practical, collaborative engineer who enjoys investigating problems, taking ownership and improving existing systems.

What’s On Offer?

  • £50,000 salary
  • 100% remote working anywhere in the UK
  • Hands-on AWS-focused position
  • Work on business-critical, live production systems
  • Opportunity to improve Kubernetes, monitoring and automation
  • Genuine technical ownership and influence
  • Collaborative engineering environment
  • Shared DevOps responsibility rather than being the sole DevOps Engineer

If you’re an AWS-focused DevOps, Platform or Cloud Engineer looking for more ownership while remaining hands-on, we’d be keen to hear from you.
