Repairs & DIY Enthusiasts
Your tasks
π¨ Repairs & DIY Enthusiasts: Get Paid to Talk About What You Do Love fixing things, building furniture, woodworking, gardening, or working on home improvement projects? Show us your skills and talk us through them step by step. We are recruiting experienced DIYers, handymen, skilled tradespeople, home improvement enthusiasts, gardeners, woodworkers, and repair hobbyists for a flexible paid video recording project. Using our app and a phone head mount, you will record first-person (POV) videos while performing real repairs, maintenance, assembly, and DIY projects and talk through what you are doing step by step.
ποΈ Show Us What You Do β and Talk Us Through It Imagine you are teaching someone who cannot see what you are doing. As you work on a repair or DIY project, narrate the entire process. Tell us:
- What you are building, repairing, installing, or maintaining
- What problem you are trying to solve
- What tools, parts, and materials you are using
- What you are doing at each step
- What you see, hear, feel, or notice
- What you are measuring, marking, cutting, or adjusting
- Why you choose a particular tool, material, or technique
- What you are checking and why
- How you know whether something is working correctly
- What problems or unexpected situations you encounter
- How you troubleshoot and make adjustments
- What safety precautions you are taking
- What you would do differently if something does not work
- What you are going to do next
For example, while repairing a cabinet door βI am checking why this cabinet door is hanging unevenly. I notice the upper hinge is loose, so I am using a Phillips screwdriver to tighten the screws. I am holding the door in position while turning the screwdriver clockwise. Now I am closing the door to check whether it lines up with the cabinet frameβ¦β For example, while gardening: βI am preparing this garden bed for planting. I am using a hand trowel to loosen the soil and remove small weeds. The soil feels a little dry, so I am going to add some water before planting. Now I am measuring the spacing between the holes to make sure each plant has enough room to growβ¦β You do not need to sound scripted or formal. Just talk naturally and continuously as you work.
