Permanent | From €6,000 gross/month | Leuven

Thirty countries, sixty legal entities, a BPO partner in India, monthly closings under time pressure, and an ERP migration continuing in the middle of operations. You have experienced it all, and you know how to bring structure, calm, and quality to it.

At an international market leader in medical products, we are looking for an AP Manager to manage the European AP hub from Leuven within a Global Business Services structure. An environment with international teams in Belgium, the UK, and India, an active finance transformation trajectory, and products that make a difference in healthcare every day.

Your role

As AP Manager, you take full responsibility for the Accounts Payable domain and act as the connecting link between finance and international business stakeholders. From the European hub in Leuven, you supervise AP activities in Belgium, the United Kingdom, and India, and collaborate with teams spread across the world.

Operational responsibilities:

  • Full AP cycle for European countries: receipt, review, processing, and approval of invoices in accordance with group policy
  • Three-way matching, follow-up of discrepancies, and escalation where necessary
  • Preparation and execution of payment runs via various payment methods (EFT, Wire, ACH, DD, SEPA B2B/B2C)
  • Management of vendor reconciliations, AP subledger reconciliation to the GL, and handling of intercompany balances
  • Monthly and annual closing activities: accruals, prepayments, open PO's, and AP adjustments
  • Supervision of compliance: VAT, Intrastat, SOx requirements, internal controls, and segregation of duties
  • Development and follow-up of KPIs and AP reporting: aging, vendor spending, payment forecast, accrual overviews
  • Support during audit processes: providing documentation, explanation of reconciliations, and implementation of recommendations

People management & leadership:

  • Directing, coaching, and developing international AP teams and BPO partners
  • Monitoring SLA quality and operational consistency in outsourced processes
  • Technical guidance of BPO teams on the ERP system: point of contact for complex processing and system questions
  • Visible and engaged leadership: you are there for your people, across time zones and national borders

Your profile

You are a senior finance professional who knows complex AP environments inside out. You do not lose sight of the people in your team and know how to bring structure and calm to an organization that is constantly evolving.

  • Bachelor's or Master's in a financial field
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in AP and GL, preferably across multiple countries and legal entities
  • Proven leadership experience, both directly and via BPO coordination and process leadership
  • Practical knowledge of large ERP systems such as Oracle Cloud Financials or SAP S/4HANA
  • Familiar with US GAAP and/or IFRS and financial closing across multiple entities
  • Strong knowledge of VAT in an international context, SOx, and internal controls
  • Demonstrable experience with finance transformation or ERP implementation projects is a strong plus
  • Analytical, solution-oriented, and comfortable in an environment with high complexity and change
  • Fluent in English (required); knowledge of French or Dutch is a plus
  • Willing to travel internationally: regularly to the UK, occasionally to Asia
