Secondary School Mathematics Tutor

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Mathematics lessons aligned with the Singapore MOE secondary syllabus.
• Assess students’ learning needs and customise lesson plans to maximise learning outcomes.
• Teach mathematical concepts in areas such as algebra, geometry, trigonometry, statistics, and probability.
• Guide students in applying mathematical methods, logical reasoning, and problem-solving strategies.
• Teach Elementary Mathematics and/or Additional Mathematics according to the tutor’s expertise.
• Mark assignments, monitor student progress, and provide timely, constructive feedback.
• Prepare students for school assessments and national examinations.
• Develop students’ confidence, accuracy, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
• Create a positive, engaging, and disciplined learning environment.
• Communicate professionally with parents regarding students’ academic progress.
• Develop teaching resources, lesson materials, and classroom activities.
• Uphold ATOP Academy’s teaching standards, values, and commitment to academic excellence.

Requirements

• GCE A-Level, Diploma, Degree, or equivalent qualification in Education, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of secondary-level mathematical concepts and problem-solving methods.
• Familiarity with the Singapore MOE Secondary Mathematics syllabus and assessment requirements.
• Ability to teach Elementary Mathematics and/or Additional Mathematics is preferred.
• Passion for teaching and supporting secondary school students.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
• Responsible, patient, enthusiastic, and committed to student success.
• Prior teaching or tutoring experience is an advantage but not required.
