Senior Exploration Geologist

We are looking for a person to work in the Exploration area at our Santa Rita Mine in Itagibá - BA. Responsibilities and duties Perform the initial investigation stage of surface areas with mining potential, including regional mapping, preliminary analysis of geological data and surveys provided by government agencies, and technical evaluation of the area's feasibility for mineral exploration purposes.

Act as a direct interlocutor with landowners during research work, ensuring clear communication aligned with legal and environmental standards, minimizing conflicts, and seeking a good relationship with local communities.

Perform the programming of soil and rock sampling, both regional and detailed, monitoring the sending of samples and the receipt of chemical analyses from the laboratory.

Perform regional and detailed geological mapping, observing geomorphological, structural, and lithological aspects as well as geophysical surveys.

Perform the programming of drilling activities, defining, based on technical and geological criteria, the locations where the drillings will be executed.

Monitor the execution of drilling in the field, focusing on the proper collection of drill cores.

Perform the geological and geotechnical description of the collected cores, identifying rock types, geological structures, and signs of mineralization.

Prepare the sampling plan for representative samples from the cores for sending and monitoring chemical analyses in the laboratory, ensuring data quality and the reliability of results for decision-making.

Perform geological interpretation using specific software, feeding the programs with information obtained from drill cores and chemical analysis results.

Interact with the team of specialists, providing the necessary data for the determination of grade and volume, an essential stage for the economic evaluation of the project.

Perform specific drillings with a geotechnical focus, aimed at recognizing the physical characteristics of geological structures and the types of rocks present in the area.

Technically support technicians, assistants, and contracted teams in activities carried out in the field and in the core shed, ensuring quality control of the activities performed.

Assist the Coordinator in monitoring contracts and the development of services, contributing to the control of execution, compliance with deadlines, and ensuring the quality of processes under the area's responsibility. Create geological and grade shell models in geological modeling software.

Requirements and qualifications Completed higher education in Geology or Geological Engineering; Intermediate Office Package. Experience with: QGIS and Leapfrog Geo.

Specific Knowledge: Interpretation of geophysical and geochemical data, geological and structural mapping, and geological and geotechnical description of drill cores; Operation and supervision of geological and geotechnical drilling, geological and ore modeling, and technical evaluation of mineral assets; Brazilian Mining Law, including ANM, Mining Code, regulations, and ordinances;

Driver's license category B; Intermediate English. Will be considered a differential: Experience with IoGAS and programming languages SQL and Phyton.
