General & cost accountant section head

This is a full-time, on-site role based in El Sherouk for a General & Cost Accountant . The role involves overseeing general ledger activities, reviewing and approving journal entries, and ensuring accurate and timely preparation of financial statements. The Section Head will manage cost accounting processes, including cost allocation, variance analysis, and monitoring of project-related expenditures to support effective budgeting and cost control. Daily responsibilities also include financial analysis, supporting internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies, and leading a small accounting team through coaching, performance monitoring, and workflow coordination. The role works closely with finance and project management teams to provide reliable financial data for decision-making and strategic planning.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certification (e.g., CMA, CPA) is a plus.

Knowledge of finance principles and practices relevant to construction & real estate development is a must .

Strong cost accounting skills, including cost allocation, project costing, and variance analysis.

Proficiency in preparing and reviewing financial statements and related financial reports.

Solid analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.

Hands-on experience with journal entries, general ledger accounting, and month-end closing.

Experience leading or supervising accounting teams and coordinating workloads.

Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel; familiarity with ERP systems is an advantage.

Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
