Mechanical Project Manager (M/F)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Main Missions - Lead the mechanical package of the project (engineering, construction site, installation) in consistency with the EPC schedule and site requirements.

• Coordinate mechanical engineering: review/validation of documents (drawings, calculation notes, specifications, bills of materials, procedures).
• Technically challenge the supplier: clarifications, management of deviations, open points, arbitration, and decisions.
• Organize and lead technical reviews, progress meetings, and multi-disciplinary interfaces (process, EIA, GC, production, maintenance, HSE).
• Prepare the construction site phase: assembly strategy, phasing, tooling/lifting needs, access constraints, co-activity.
• Monitor execution on site: assembly supervision, compliance control, quality, management of non-conformities and corrective actions.
• Ensure cost/schedule/risk management: dashboard, reporting, action plan, change management.
• Contribute to testing and commissioning: inspections, pre-acceptance, punch list, clearance of reservations, startup support.
• Ensure compliance with HSE requirements and site standards during execution (briefings, permits, lockouts, site rules).
• Produce structured and regular reporting to the work package manager.

REQUIRED PROFILE:

• Essential
• Master's degree (or equivalent) in mechanics / mechanical engineering / industrial maintenance.
• +10 years of experience in managing mechanical projects in an industrial environment.
• Proven experience in engineering and installation/assembly phases on site (construction site).
• Professional English mandatory (meetings, supplier exchanges, documents).

• Desirable
• Experience in metallurgy/steelmaking (steelworks, rolling mill, strip lines, furnaces).
• Experience in EPC / multi-package projects with international suppliers.
• Field culture: supervision, acceptance, testing, clearance of reservations, co-activity management.
• Proficiency in project planning and reporting tools (e.g., MS Project, Excel, action tracking tools).
• Experience in regulated access environments (to be mentioned if applicable, in a generic way).
