Electricity / Automation / Instrumentation Project Manager (M/F)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

About the context - Capacity increase project on a heavy metallurgy/steelmaking industrial installation, integrating a strip processing line.

• EPC environment with an international supplier, strong interfaces with mechanics, process, production, civil engineering, and HSE.
• The assigned package covers the entire E&A scope: industrial electricity (LV/MV), control-command, automation, instrumentation, networks, and system interfaces.
• Expected deliverables: E&A specifications, I/O lists, control-command architecture, diagrams and notes, functional analyses, site files, FAT/SAT, punch list, acceptance reports, and commissioning support.

Main missions - Lead the E&A package of the project from end to end: engineering, site, installation, and commissioning.

• Coordinate and validate studies: specifications, electrical diagrams, I/O lists, calculation notes, material choices, system architecture.
• Technically challenge the EPC supplier on electrical, automation, and instrumentation choices (clarifications, deviations, arbitration).
• Ensure the coordination of E&A interfaces with mechanics, process, civil engineering, production, and maintenance.
• Build and monitor the E&A schedule: engineering milestones, procurement, FAT/SAT, cable pulling, connections, loop checks, testing.
• Prepare and lead the site phases: procedures, phasing, lockouts, co-activity, compliance and quality control.
• Monitor installation: supervision of works, clearing of non-conformities, management of modifications, and documentary updates.
• Oversee the testing and commissioning strategy: test plans, pre-commissioning, instrument loop checks, interlock tests, SAT.
• Support commissioning: startup support, performance monitoring, punch list, clearing of reservations, and acceptance.
• Ensure structured reporting (progress, risks, costs, actions) to the work package manager.

REQUIRED PROFILE:

• Essential
• Master's degree (or equivalent) in industrial electricity / automation / control-command.
• +10 years of experience in leading E&A projects in an industrial environment.
• Proven experience in engineering and site/installation and commissioning phases.
• Professional English mandatory (meetings, supplier exchanges, documentation).

• Desirable
• Experience in steelmaking or heavy industry (continuous processes, constrained environments).
• Familiarity with EPC projects and managing international suppliers.
• Solid skills in control-command (PLC/DCS/SCADA), instrumentation, and industrial networks.
• HSE field culture and management of lockouts/testing in an industrial environment.
• Ability to meet deadline/quality objectives and manage multi-disciplinary interfaces.
