pharmacy assistant
Education:
College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. or equivalent experience.
Work setting:
Community or retail pharmacy.
Tasks:
- Ensure the information on prescriptions is accurate.
- Enter client information in databases.
- Help pharmacists.
- Maintain inventories of medications and pharmaceutical products.
- Maintain prescription records .
- Prepare medications for clients.
- Set up and dismantle equipment.
- Clean and maintain equipment.
- Compound, package and label pharmaceutical products.
- Help with scheduling and workflow.
- Prepare and maintain equipment and supplies.
- Record vital signs.
- Bill third party insurers.
- Compound oral solutions, ointments and creams.
- Maintain inventories of medications and prescription records of pharmaceutical products.
- Maintain supplies.
- Maintain inventory of equipment.
- Prepare and maintain cleanliness of collection areas.
- Order supplies and equipment.
- Organize and maintain inventory.
- Schedule and confirm appointments.
Supervision:
1 to 2 people.

- CPR Certificate.
