A leading healthcare facility in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced consultant specialist anesthesiologist to join its anesthesia and perioperative care team. The successful candidate will provide safe, high-quality anesthesia services across a range of surgical and procedural specialties and contribute to comprehensive perioperative patient care.
Key responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive pre-anesthetic assessments and develop individualized anesthesia plans.
Administer general, regional, and monitored anesthesia care according to clinical expertise and patient requirements.
Monitor patients throughout surgical and procedural interventions and manage intraoperative complications.
Provide post-anesthesia care and ensure appropriate pain management and patient recovery.
Manage airway emergencies and participate in resuscitation and critical care support when required.
Assess and optimize patients with complex medical conditions prior to surgery.
Collaborate closely with surgeons, intensivists, nurses, and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
Perform anesthesia-related procedures within the scope of clinical privileges.
Maintain accurate clinical documentation and comply with hospital policies and patient safety standards.
Participate in emergency and on-call duties as required.
Contribute to quality improvement, clinical governance, and patient safety initiatives.
Support teaching, supervision, and professional development of junior medical staff.
Requirements
Qualifications
Medical degree from an accredited institution.
Recognized postgraduate qualification in anesthesiology/anaesthesia.
Eligibility for or a valid DOH Abu Dhabi consultant or specialist licence, as applicable.
Relevant post-specialization clinical experience appropriate to the applied position.
Strong experience in perioperative and anesthesia management.
Current good standing certificate and verifiable professional credentials.
Excellent communication, clinical decision-making, and teamwork skills.
