Your tasks
As a SEND TA, you will work closely with 16-19-year-old students who require additional support to reach their full potential.
The SEND Teaching Assistant job As a SEND Teaching Assistant, your primary responsibility will be to create a positive and inclusive learning environment while providing one-on-one or small group support to students with SEND.
You'll assist in developing and implementing EHCP/LP, ensuring students receive the appropriate support and interventions. You'll work as part of the SEND safeguarding team.
You will assist with classroom activities, monitor student progress, maintain accurate records, and collaborate with other professionals. You'll also support students in exams as a reader or scribe.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience required include
- Experience working with students with specific learning difficulties (e.g., ASC, dyslexia, ADHD) or disabilities
- Experience supporting learners in a further education/sixth form setting
- GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent) at grade C/4 or above
- Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (or equivalent)
- Training related to SEN
- Degree or HE qualification in Computer Science or Maths is desirable
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills
