About The Role

This position will define, lead and execute strategies to deliver sustainable commercial value to the organization. You will own a range of categories and be responsible for managing the spend and contracts underlying these categories, from planning, sourcing, and negotiating to fulfilment. Beyond traditional category and contract management, you are also expected to unlock new business opportunities and manage the end-to-end process from origination to delivery. This role will work for you only if you have an unconstrained view of the world while still remaining grounded enough to get the job done.

Our organization is growing at an accelerated pace, both organically and through partnerships and acquisitions. This role will include portfolios which require you to manage key partnerships/accounts to align interests, negotiate win-win positions, monitor and manage performance, and develop continuous improvement and other business opportunities to solidify our partnerships.

Success in this role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Production, Finance, and Legal. The ability to influence stakeholders and navigate complex interdependencies will be critical to achieving business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage key external business partners, alliances, and supplier relationships to deliver business outcomes
  • Develop and lead execution of business strategies with strong focus on improving business performance
  • Develop and lead negotiation and commercial deal making strategies/tactics to deliver best commercial outcomes
  • Demonstrate innovation, agility, and ability to think and work “outside the box” while adhering to our business values and principles
  • Coach, develop, and inspire a team members and foster a culture of performance, accountability, and growth.
  • Capably manage internal stakeholders and over time masterfully navigate and steer team through internal decision making processes
  • Actively Monitor market trends and shifts and connect how these market shifts may potentially create risks or opportunities to our business strategies; Develop and execute risk management strategies
  • Understand and demonstrate leadership in terms compliance with our business controls, standards, policies as well as external legal/regulatory frameworks.
  • Advocate, champion or in some areas, sponsor use of digital tools and data-driven decision-making to optimize processes and reporting.
  • Promote synergy across business units within our group of companies, enabling standardization and best practice sharing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain or related discipline. Postgraduate qualifications will be an added advantage.
  • Min. 10-12 years of working experiences in commercial, business development, supply chain, procurement or category management roles; Breadth of experience gained through exposure to diverse roles and responsibilities is a plus.
  • Excellent deal making, negotiation and business partnering skills; experience managing key strategic accounts is a must have.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex stakeholder relationships across diverse internal and external groups, including multicultural and cross-functional environments.
  • Strong financial, commercial, analytical skills specifically ability to understand what drives business and financial performance, analyze levers to improve business results to improve shareholder returns.
  • We are a dynamic, fast pace organization with strong focus on results and outcomes. You must be comfortable working in an environment where you are constantly challenged by new ideas, strategies and learning new skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication in English.
