AI Engineer (m/f)

About the company

Position We are currently looking for a candidate for the position of AI Engineer (m/f) for our client in the pharmaceutical industry.

Your tasks

The project focuses on the development and maintenance of applications based on artificial intelligence, in particular Generative AI, large language models (LLM), RAG architectures, and AI agents. The work involves developing production solutions in cooperation with product teams.

Tasks that await you

• Designing, developing, and maintaining AI/GenAI applications using Python.
• Creating solutions based on LLM, RAG architectures, and AI agents.
• Building agents, integrations, and workflows using LangChain, LangGraph, or similar tools.
• Implementing AI quality assessment mechanisms, regression tests, and benchmarks.
• Developing backend services and APIs and integrating them with business systems.
• Ensuring reliability, scalability, and monitoring of applications.
• Collaborating with product teams in implementing and improving solutions.

• Designing, developing, and maintaining AI/GenAI applications using Python.
• Creating solutions based on LLM, RAG architectures, and AI agents.
• Building agents, integrations, and workflows using LangChain, LangGraph, or similar tools.
• Implementing AI quality assessment mechanisms, regression tests, and benchmarks.
• Developing backend services and APIs and integrating them with business systems.
• Ensuring reliability, scalability, and monitoring of applications.

Requirements

You will excel in this role if

• You have experience in Python programming at a Senior level with a minimum of 5 years of experience in software engineering.
• You have practical experience in creating and deploying LLM-based applications.
• You are familiar with RAG architectures, AI agents, and frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, or similar.
• You have experience in creating REST APIs and backend services, e.g., using FastAPI.
• You know methods for testing and assessing the quality of AI solutions and monitoring LLM models.
• You work with SQL, structured, and unstructured data.
• You are familiar with AWS, Docker, CI/CD, and software development best practices.
• You use English at a minimum B2 level.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of MCP (Model Context Protocol) or A2A (Agent-to-Agent) protocols.
• Experience with agent memory mechanisms, state management, and process orchestration.
• Knowledge of AI guardrails, LLM observability, and the human-in-the-loop approach.
• Experience with Harness Engineering or creating web interfaces and dashboards.
• Knowledge of the German language.
