We are seeking a passionate and experienced Secondary English Teacher to join an established international school in South Korea. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic English specialist who enjoys inspiring students across the Secondary age range. For the right candidate, there is also the potential to take on Head of English responsibilities, either upon appointment or as the role develops. Overview The successful candidate will teach English across the Secondary age range, helping students develop strong communication, analytical and critical-thinking skills while fostering a genuine appreciation of language and literature. The school follows a British-style curriculum, with students progressing towards internationally recognised qualifications including IGCSE and A Level. The successful candidate will contribute to a collaborative Secondary team and play an important role in supporting students' academic progress and wider development. Job Highlights Teach English across the Secondary age range Deliver engaging and challenging lessons within a British-style curriculum Support students working towards IGCSE and A Level qualifications Develop students' skills in language, literature, analysis and critical thinking Contribute to curriculum planning, assessment and departmental development Encourage students to engage with English beyond the classroom through enrichment activities Work collaboratively with colleagues across the Secondary school Support students' academic and personal development Potential opportunity to progress into a Head of English/English Subject Lead role Opportunity to contribute to the development and improvement of the English department Join a collaborative international school community in South Korea The Ideal Candidate Hold a Bachelor's Degree in English, Education or a related subject Hold a recognised teaching qualification such as a PGCE, B.Ed. or equivalent Have proven experience teaching English at Secondary level Ideally have experience teaching students aged 11–18 Have strong subject knowledge across English Language and Literature Experience with a British curriculum is highly desirable Experience teaching IGCSE, GCSE and/or A Level is highly desirable Have strong lesson planning, assessment and classroom management skills Be confident differentiating learning for students with a range of abilities Be passionate about developing students' communication, analytical and critical-thinking skills Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills Be collaborative, adaptable and committed to professional development International teaching experience is highly desirable Candidates who already have experience as a Head of Department, Subject Lead or similar are encouraged to apply. However, strong Secondary English teachers who are ready to take their first step into subject leadership are also welcome to apply.
