We are delighted to announce a number of exciting opportunities for experienced and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join a close-knit and highly specialist school community in Guildford. This is a school with a genuine commitment to the wellbeing and development of every pupil and every member of staff, a place where consistency, trust and relationships are at the heart of everything that happens. Whether you are looking for a permanent position, a long-term placement or regular supply work, we are keen to hear from candidates who genuinely understand specialist education and are comfortable working as part of a close, collaborative classroom team alongside teachers, therapists and other specialists. This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced SEN TAs who want to build a meaningful, ongoing relationship with a specialist schoo, contributing to the progress and wellbeing of pupils aged 5-18 with autism, complex needs, communication needs and behaviours that challenge, in an environment where your consistency and commitment genuinely makes a difference.

About the Role:

Depending on your availability and experience, positions are available on a permanent, long-term or regular supply basis, with the school particularly keen to build a reliable supply bank of consistent, familiar staff rather than receiving different faces each day. Staff wellbeing is genuinely prioritised here, you will be supported, valued and given the tools you need to do your best work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1, small group and whole class support to pupils aged 5-18 with autism, complex needs, communication needs and behaviours that challenge

  • Maintain a calm, structured and nurturing classroom environment
  • Build consistent, trusting relationships with pupils, families and staff, particularly important for supply staff joining the school's regular supply bank
  • Monitor and record pupil progress, feeding back to the class teacher and SENCO
  • Support pupils with personal care and physical needs where required, with dignity and sensitivity
  • Follow safeguarding, health and safety and school-specific policies at all times

About You:

  • A calm, patient and consistent approach with a genuine passion for specialist education
  • Reliable, punctual and committed, particularly important for candidates joining the school's regular supply bank
