Are you an experienced and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding long-term role? We are currently recruiting for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in South Birmingham. This is a full-time, 5-day-per-week position, providing support to pupils with additional needs and helping them thrive both academically and socially.

The Role:

• Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with Special Educational Needs.
• Work closely with the class teacher and SENDCO to deliver tailored learning support.
• Support children with a range of needs, including ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs, and social, emotional and mental health needs.
• Adapt learning activities to ensure all pupils can access the curriculum.
• Encourage independence, confidence and positive classroom participation.
• Support pupils during lessons, interventions, breaktimes and school activities.
• Help manage behaviour positively and consistently in line with school policies.
• Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff and parents where required.
• Build strong, positive relationships with pupils to help them achieve their full potential.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or SEN Teaching Assistant in a primary school setting.
• A caring, patient and nurturing approach.
• Good understanding of SEND and inclusive classroom practices.
• Ability to build positive relationships with children, staff and parents.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification desirable but not essential.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
