Aspire People are looking for an experienced Science Technician to support practical Science activities across RCT. This is a great opportunity for someone with a laboratory, scientific, education or technical background who enjoys working in a practical environment and supporting learners.
The Role
- Prepare equipment, materials and resources for practical Science sessions
- Support the safe and effective use of laboratory equipment
- Maintain, organise and monitor Science resources
- Assist with practical demonstrations and experiments
- Follow appropriate health and safety procedures
- Carry out stock checks and report any damaged or missing equipment
- Work closely with teaching staff to support practical activities
Requirements
- Science Technician, laboratory or relevant technical experience
- Strong knowledge of laboratory equipment and procedures
- Good understanding of health and safety
- Ability to prepare and organise practical resources
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Good communication and teamwork
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities
- Experience working with children or young people desirable
- EWC registration or willingness to register
- Enhanced DBS for Children on the DBS Update Service
