Behaviour Management Specialist Cover Supervisor Newport | Immediate Start | £120 - £140 per day | Full-Time

Are you an experienced behaviour management specialist looking for a rewarding challenge? Aspire People are currently recruiting for a confident and resilient Cover Supervisor to join a secondary school in Newport with an immediate start available. This role is based within an alternative curriculum provision, supporting pupils who can present with challenging behaviours and require strong, consistent behaviour management and positive relationships to help them engage successfully with education. The successful candidate will be a calm, authoritative presence who can establish clear boundaries while building trust and rapport with students.

The Role

• Supervise students within an alternative curriculum setting.
• Deliver pre-planned lessons and learning activities across a range of subjects.
• Support pupils who may be disengaged from mainstream education.
• Manage challenging behaviour effectively and consistently.
• Encourage positive attitudes towards learning and personal development.
• Work closely with teaching and pastoral staff to support student progress and wellbeing.
• Maintain a safe, structured and purposeful learning environment.

The Ideal Candidate

• Has previous experience as a Cover Supervisor, Behaviour Mentor, Youth Worker, Teaching Assistant or in a similar role.
• Demonstrates excellent behaviour management skills and confidence working with challenging students.
• Builds strong professional relationships and remains calm under pressure.
• Is resilient, adaptable and able to think on their feet.
• Has a genuine passion for helping young people overcome barriers to learning.
