Job Summary
The Procurement Manager is responsible for developing and executingprocurement strategies to ensure supply continuity, cost competitiveness,supplier performance, and operational excellence. The role leads sourcing,supplier management, commercial negotiations, risk mitigation, and procurementgovernance while partnering with cross-functional teams to support businessobjectives. The incumbent will also lead and develop a high-performingprocurement team.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Procurement Strategy & Sourcing
- Develop and implement procurement and category strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Drive sourcing initiatives, supplier consolidation, localization, and cost reduction programs.
- Monitor market trends and identify opportunities to improve supply chain competitiveness.
Supplier & Commercial Management
- Lead supplier selection, qualification, performance management, and development activities.
- Build strategic supplier partnerships to improve quality, delivery, service, and cost performance.
- Manage commercial negotiations, contracts, and supplier agreements.
Supply Assurance & Risk Management
- Ensure continuity of supply through proactive risk identification and mitigation.
- Develop contingency plans for critical materials, suppliers, and capacity constraints.
- Lead escalation management for supply disruptions and supplier-related issues.
Operational Excellence
- Partner with Planning and Operations teams to optimize inventory, material availability, and working capital.
- Monitor procurement KPIs and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support NPI activities, supplier readiness, and capacity planning.
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Lead, coach, and develop the procurement team to achieve business objectives.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Logistics, Finance, and external suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, governance requirements, and ethical sourcing standards
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related discipline.
- 6-10 years of procurement, sourcing, or supply chain experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Minimum 3 years of people management experience.
- Strong background in strategic sourcing, supplier management, and commercial negotiations.
- Knowledge of manufacturing operations, inventory management, and supply chain processes.
- Proficient in SAP or equivalent ERP systems, Microsoft Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation capabilities.
